I got the dampers in the top of the firebox in my 36 hybrid deluxe on wagon wheel cart. When seasoning I opened dampers and got the warmer to almost 500 degrees! I love having the option to cook in the warmer if I needed to for large cooks. I figure I can get about 4 additional butts or 2-3 racks of ribs if I stack them maybe 4, so the warmer does add options. Its a no brainer in my opinion, why wouldn't you want the option of using it to cook if needed, and if not then use plates to cover it and cook normal? To each his own and that's why they make chevys and fords!
