I haven't cooked a lamb --yet --but your post made me think about it for my next  set of cooks. Last year we were in Australia and Tasmania and had the best lamb we've ever tasted. I googled "smoking a leg of lamb" and lamb seems to be a simple cook on the Lang. I think the most important part would be seasoning as the cook itself would be the easy part.

I stopped at Restaraunt depot and picked up a brisket and a boneless leg of lamb... asked the wife which she wanted and it turned out brisket so that's on for tomorrow. Next weekend it will be the lamb if I have to eat it myself !

DBA1954> I was looking at the boneless leg of lamb at Costco today. Did you ever cook the one you bought on your Lang and how did it turn out??

It turned out really good. I smoked it with cherry and maple. Embedded peices of garlic and put a salt, pepper, garlic and rosemary rub on it. Smoked in a pan to collect the juice and make gravy out of. It was great although the smokey gravy was a little different .... Smile

We've done them a few times.  Usually get a partial bone in and remove the bone. Slice the leg so I can lay it out flat and layer the inside with mixture of cream cheese, jalepenos, and bacon. Then wrap it back up and tie it up. Has turned out amazing every time.  We smoke a leg of lamb once a week.
