Known issues video from Lang.

Saw two new videos where Ben addressed known issues.

1. The Temperature gauge. Ben admitted the gauge is used to get the cooker up to cooking  temperature and see a drop. Nothing more. To cook, you need an interior thermometer at the grate to get accurate temp.

2. paint flaking and rusting at firebox.  Said nothing can be done about it. wire brush and touch up from time to time.
Noted some people using cooking oil or wd40 to keep surface better, but as I figured, it's a dirt/dust magnet.

On my fire box, I used an angle grinder, with a wire wheel got down to as close to bare metal as i could, and used high heat header paint. ( can be found at an autopart store for cheap) I then painted a couple of coats of that, also, after a few cooks, i startred to use cooking oil spray and give it a light coat when the fire box is cooling down.  Looks better than brand new.
