Hello from Orlando, FL & Seasoning first cook question

Just got my 36 Deluxe, wood arrived today, going to season and try some ribs on Saturday!  No pictures yet, but will post soon.

My question is I am planning on seasoning and cooking on Saturday. Was thinking about 4~5 hours for seasoning and steam cleaning, then throw some ribs on for a 3,2,1 cook.  Should I let the smoker cool off and restart before the first cook after the seasoning process, or just go for it after it seasons for several hours?


no need to wait.  In fact, your plan would help you find your heat zones if you have a few temperature probes.  I'd season, steam, cook, clean grates with wire brush, and steam again.
