Heat Guage Calibration

I Was wondering if the heat gauges the come with the smokers can be calibrated?  Can the nut behind the face be turned to calibrate it?
They look like a tel-tru bq300.

That teltru model is adjustable but I don't know if that's what's on the Lang and I wouldn't bother adjusting it anyway for a couple of reasons.  First is the gauge is in the wrong place  - you don't care what the temperature is at the top of the cook chamber. You need to know the temperature at the product level. Second, the gauge is bi-metal technology from the 1800's and you'll never get it exact through the entire temp range. Third, Ben indicated in one of his videos that it's only to be used as an indicator. My suggestion is you invest in in a digitial thermometer that will measure both the temp of the product and the temp at the level of the product your cooking.

Wood River. I do the same. I was Just wondering. I read somewhere that some gauges can be calibrated by turning the nut in the back. Mine are still spot on according to the boiling water test. They read within 1-2 degrees of my digital. If they ever get out of whack, I will try it before I have to buy a new one.
