We drove to Nahunta, Ga from Kentucky to pick up my 48D yesterday. Got to meet Ben Lang and the crew and everyone was super nice. Can't wait to start cooking on this bad boy...

I season it today and will be doing my first cook with it on the fourth. After seasoning it I done a dry run to see how it holds the temp at 225. It did great. I can't wait till Friday when I will have 8 butts in it.

If you're just using the temp gauge on the smoker keep your food towards it. The firebox end can get quite a bit hotter until you get use to using it.

Ok thanks, I use the ones that I got from ThermoWorks to check the temp at grate level and a probe for the meat.
